Alice’s Attic: 1898-1905 black and cream silk bodice

Gallery

ahem *blows dust off folder of pictures*…so I might have lost some momentum with these Alice’s Attic posts….oops. Well we’ll go with the theory that absence makes the heart grow fonder and give you the gift of this beautiful bodice.

This beautiful black and cream bodice we think is around 1900ish, somewhere between 1898 and 1905. It has a very neat closure. There is an under flap that closes then the cream lace panel hooks over it…confusing? here lets try with pictures.

Rather ingenious eh? It also has these incredibly funny sleeves that puff on the end. I’ve got a bunch of pictures…so I’ll just leave those here and if you have questions just ask.

(I have tried to rearrange these six ways till Sunday and my blog thinks the MOST IMPORTANT PICTURES are all the sleeve ones o.O)

Now who wants to find me some gorgeous lace like that?! And thanks again to Mandie for being the most uncomplaining model I’ve ever had.
